The SPRO rocket is a ultra lightweight carbon fiber rocket. The rocket was propelled by a 38mm sorbitol using a titanium nozzle to further reduce weight. The SPRO rocket got its name from the brand SPRO, a well known manufacturer of fishing rods. The carbon fiber tube of the SPRO rocket was actually an extension tube of a carbon fiber fishing rod!
Recovery was achieved using only a small rocketman drogue parachute. Electronics included a stratologger flight computer, an onboard camera, a sound beacon and a small 433mhz radio beacon.
Despite its size, the SPRO reached altitudes of approximately 2km!
